EMPLOYMENT ZONE: an employment zone is a geographical area within which
most of the active population lives and works. Carried out jointly by INSEE and
the statistical department of the Ministry of Employment, division into employment zones constitutes a territorial division suited to local studies concerning employment and its environment.
In Limousin, the zones of employment coincide with the “arrondissements” or administrative zones.
